Welcome – You have just found the friendliest hotel in Hertford. Known locally as The Salisbury, it is steeped in history and whilst retaining so many of its original charms now offers lovely accommodation in Hertford, be it a business stay or for a romantic getaway in the Home Counties.
We want our guests to arrive and relax, admittedly it is made easier as we are the only hotel in Hertford with its own car park, from the moment you arrive at the heart of Hertford you can be assured that we will do everything we can to get it right – first time.
All our rooms have everything to make your stay as comfortable and enjoyable as possible. And because we know that getting your head down is never as good as it is in your own bed – you can now choose your pillow from our very own Pillow Menu!

Naturally our passion for being the best hotel in Hertford means that you can experience some of Hertford's best food. Our team of chefs are on hand to prepare everything from a full English breakfast to a late supper with friends.
We have two great bars, one that offers the latest sports events and another where you can sit and relax. At both you can enjoy a real ale from our very own Hertford brewery, owned by McMullen's, a glass of wine or two and a bite to eat.
